Second Level
Welcome to the Second Level section of our Dyslexia Hub.
We will be launching resources here in two phases.
In the first phase we are pleased to be launching professional learning materials for second level teachers and school leaders. These are designed to help whole-school communities build greater understanding of dyslexia and develop practical, inclusive strategies to support dyslexic students. These can be used as part of in-school continuing professional development activities, with a focus on how support can be provided for dyslexic students in mainstream classrooms by subject teachers.
There are (1) videos for whole school staff covering a range of topics including an introduction to dyslexia; how to identify and support it in classes; and additional topics including study skills and exam technique. There are also (2) more detailed resources for subject teachers which provide more detailed advice about strategies and resources that can be used to support students with dyslexia in specific subjects. The content in both of these sections will also be informative for students and parents.
In the second phase of the development of these Second Level resources we will be developing content for (3) young people and (4) parents. Watch this space!
